Anybody have a problem with rats? I think I have one or more getting into my coop. Going to the Home Depot today to get some hardware cloth

Hi there, I recently lost a newborn chick to a rat or rodent of some sort, so I've sprung the area with lots of micetraps and glue traps near the scene of the crime. Are you having any problems with them?

I recently began placing rat traps at night by the coop. Started seeing holes around the coop and everything I kept reading it made sense to try and eradicate the potential problem. Especially since I am about to put out some more chicks soon, don't want to open them up to anything that could hurt them. Don't use poison, it could kill your flock if they find the dead rats before you do. Snap traps work great and they are painless for the rats

1/2" hardware cloth(called rat wire in the south sometimes) over any hole larger than 3/4".

Yes we'll be making another trip to the Home Depot tonight to get some.

Does it trap them? Cause I think it's living under my house and I don't want it to die under there and then start to smell.

No it doesn't it is a bait station.
