Got me to checking on protected snakes. One rattlesnake snake in Texas protected. Timber rattlesnake.
Strange California doesn't have same protections.

Lol...I guess I should have added that to clarify what I was thinking. Their "bite" is somewhat poisonous (toxic) to us, it destroys tissue. I realize that their muscle tissue is edible although I have not tasted one myself.

In comparison, our little snakes don't seem anywhere as intimidating...lol.

ill take my chances. In Texas we Hunt Rattle snakes. We kill anything that hunts, stalks or harms are animals or family. In my county we have rattlesnake contest, to see who can kill the most, and the biggest. The contest is held by the Texas Fish and game department.
