Ratty roo tail feathers, how to smooth out?

One of them, a White Wyandotte Bantam hen got 1st, Best Variety (so best White Wyandotte), Best of Breed (best Wyandotte Bantam overall), and then Champion Rose-Comb-Clean-Legged (RCCL). Two other of my birds received a first, and my Light-Brown Dutch Bantam cockerel received 1st, Reserve Best of Variety (second best bird of his color), and Reserve Best of Breed (second best bird in his breed). All in all, it was a pretty good show.
