Can they kill an adult chicken? would they? I know their feet are way stronger.

Chicks yes... and they may still eggs.

But I don't worry about mature birds that aren't bantam.

I would suspect that it doesn't happen... or surely we would have heard about it by now.

I can't believe that skunks and rats are chicken predators. Who would'a thunk it?

Here in 30 years a skunk has never killed a chicken, i think they eat them alive at night if the chicken is on the ground, they are horrid climbers, rats eventualy start to chew on chickens and chicks but during the day roosters will kill them. SKunks love to eat eggs and chicks.

I guess in some areas skunkas have learned adapted how to take chickens, here they dont do anything but eat egs and spray the parents lol

Hello, two years ago my Friend who takes in rescue animals had Runner Ducks and the Ravens were killing two. She had to run out in her PJs to save the rest. Ravens, Crows and Magpies can become concerns. I have Calls and the Crows torment them...

last time I had chickens I had a crow that would steal my eggs if I collected them and set aside while I did something else. As soon as I turned my back it would swoop down and take an egg left alone.

Well this is to funny. I had about 14 eggs come up missing in my pen with a roof but left the door open so they could return during the day to lay if needed yesterday. Thought maybe a black snake got them. Well today I saw a Raven with something in it's mouth but didn't think anything of it. I knew today when I let them loose I had 7 eggs in there. I usually collect when I close up the main door at dusk. Well I just went down before dark and the chickens were all in there so I went around to collect eggs... and they were all gone. I'm gonna set up my game camera tomorrow and try to catch it in action. This all happened during the day.
