Meyers actually sent a heat pack with my order, that they didn't charge me for. No extra chicks and all were sexed correctly. Of all places I ordered from, on my terrible route... Meyers had the most amount of live chicks arrive. But yes, a couple had passed for me to deal with.
It might be possible to split the (political) 6 chick minimum for local sells with someone else who also doesn't need that many? 25 is often the hatchery's minimum for shipping. Sometimes it depends on your location and time of year weather wise.
It is nice to pick the ones you want! I couldn't identify any red flags on their site, other than not finding an NPIP # for them. And I'm not sure they made it clear they were a middle man or I just pulled that one from my hat. I try to avoid deception... but I'm not sure they did anything to make me think they were being misleading. It's nice that they are offering a service for people who may not want or be able to raise chicks past heat... or as you state, not need 6 birds.![]()
Also- that is great to hear about Meyer- I had a great experience texting with them on their website!
