Hi
I've recently got two new girls and they have started laying this week. The problem is that lola ( my amber link) has layed twice now and the shell of the egg is really thin so that both times by the time i have got to them (they have both been layed at night they have been broken. Hannah ( my gold link) Has also layed and although we've had three ok eggs from her i've gone out this morning and that one was also broken. I have been feeding them on layers pellets and also giving them the cooked crushed shell of the other chickens eggs ( i have two little bantams too) mixed with a bit of porridge oats as a suppliment. Although i have only been giving them this for the last three days. Can anyone give some suggestions as to anything else i could do, I have also considered putting in a small box or something for them to lay in do you think this will help. Many Thanx
