Re feather in time?

Hey everyone,

Finally all my new ducklings are old enough to take the stress from mating off my less mobile duck. But she was over mated for a while and her feathers took a good bit of the burnt. Her wings are pretty bare and it's October. I was wondering if she would be able to feather up in time for winter to be with the rest of the flock? She already has some leg issues cause of niacin deficiency which is addressed in her diet now, but is there anything that I could give her to help grow back out so she doesn't catch a chill in the coming months? I've been adding some collagen powder to her feed to try to help with her feathers too. She is removed from the rest of the flock for now also.

Poor girl. Please let her rest and recover away from any males. She needs tender treatment, and don't let your males pick on or overmate any of your new female young ones. Sometimes they can still pick on and overmate a particular favorite. It's our job to protect them and not allow the aggression. Is she fed a regular duck feed? That will be needed as well as the added niacin supplement.

Yeah she is being kept separated from the males so she can recover. She and the rest of the flock are all fed Purina Duck feed as their primary diet.

Give her some extra protein and @Ducketts mealworms are good for that a good quality small bite cat or dog kibble can also help. Just make sure it’s good quality protein in the cat and dog food my no flock love dog food they get it along with mealworms daily as an afternoon treat.
