RE: Help my bird has botulism

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to post some news. My sick little moonlight as I already mentioned in my other posts does not have botulism. Im so releaved! She actually has crookneck from an injury somehow. Anyways I wanted to tell everyone she is recovering WONDERFULLY! Such a praise. She is eating like a piggy now (though still handfeed) and drinking too! We are out of the danger zone! She is starting to chirp again and moving around on her own too! She still does the "drop, tuck and roll" (thats what we call it anyway) but she can move around more now and is very alert. Thanks everyone for your help and support and I will keep you all updated!

californiachick74 , could you help me out? I have a chicken, actually a few, who have had unexplained neuro problems, like staggering. I thought maybe botulism?? Could you tell me, what were Moonlight's symptoms and how did you find out??

All this just happened suddenly, NO warning! Could be crookneck like my little birdy. Please look for dhlunicorn's postings. They are the onles who really helped guide me through this and get my birdy strong. Look for my posting that says..."Can anyone tell me if my bird is sick or injured?" They responded many times under this and you will see our conversations. dhlunicorn also has a link provided on her postings to me called "dragonflies and dandelions" this is a very helpful message board. This is how i figured it all out and elimating botulism. Good luck. Im sorry to say Im leaving for the weekend but will be back Sun.
