Re itchy chickens

I have 6 RIR 2 silkies and 1 polish they are itching all the time .I have cleaned the coop dusted with sevin 2 times rubbed it in their feathers very well and they continue the biting and shaking of their feathers I cannot see any bugs on them at all .Anyone have any ideas

Are you sure that what you are seeing is not preening? All chicks/chickens preen their feathers.

No this is biting their feathers as if they are biting bugs off them Ihave had chickens for many years and know the difference they are all biting and flapping their wings .

A few questions: What are you feeding your flock? Are they free-ranging or mostly confined to a coop and run area? Are you seeing any damaged feathers or red/rashy skin?

They could Have just been bit by mosquitos

Going on for quite a while , they free range most of the time and are let out in the run the rest of the time run is 14 x20 .
