When I try to react to a post, this comes up. Why the extra step? And why can’t I react with the other icons/emojis?

Yup, this usually happens when javascript hasn't loaded. This can happen for a few reasons, for example, because of a slow connection, browser-addon (maybe like an ad-blocker), etc., or anything else that delays or prevents javascript from fully loading properly.

I get this all the time on a daily basis. My internet connection is basically like "dial-up". Your internet connection is probably slow too.

I've seen that before, just a couple of times though. Our wireless internet isn't real fast like some, but it works fine for us. We just upgraded from 5 Mbps to 15 and I think that's speedy! I have to download huge courtroom audios and those come in within minutes.

I remember being on dial-up and I'd start downloading something, go to bed, and maybe it'd be done in the morning.
