We went to pick up blocks last night at Lowe's and DH said he was talking to one of the guys at work about how I want to find a little black runner boy duck and the guy said he knows a place reasonably locally that sells runners. So, he's sort of semi actively sort of, helping me to locate a duck (maybe he doesn't get the 2 bit yet). But I guess this place does older ducklings or young adults. I'd really rather go the new duckling route again so I can have 2 more friendly runners. And I like ducklings. I don't find it difficult or a pita like I do when it comes to puppies (my 3 dogs came to me as adults - that may change when we look for a dane when we are ready years from now to add another dog again)

But, he's getting on board with the idea, or at least realizing it just might happen anyway lol

DH just asked if I want to go to that place with the ducks tomorrow. His ET1 told him to mention he and his wife's name and they'd give us a good deal since they buy so many birds there (not ducks, but chickens and quail and stuff).

Ummmm, my DH just suggested we go look at ducks or ducklings tomorrow...

Who is this man and what did he do with my husband??

We checked it out after we went to the vet with Jet (something wrong with her tail as it turns out - we thought lower back/legs/hip, but the vet touched her tail and she screamed - the vet asked "Was she hit by a golf cart?" WHAT???

Um, no. Tavarish probably stepped on her or plowed into her. We'll give it a few days and see if it gets better, if not, off for xrays to see if she needs to get a shorter tail)

But the place was pretty cool. Lots of chickens and roosters there and quail and turkeys and guinea fowl and pheasants and some ducklings. The other things are things the guy raises and sells some of and he also had a bunch of things from Ideal (or at least the poster of chickens had Ideal all over it).
He had a few fawn runners and a rouen and some day or two old mallards. The runners were about 2 weeks old. He had sexed a few of them, so I could have gotten a male fawn runner, but I want a male black runner. And littler!
But it was really a neat place. Oh yeah, they had 2 small donkeys too.
Wish I had brought my camera.
