Nobody really knows why chickened says the things he does but I can tell you it has nothing to do with Oregon. Listening to Rush every day can really distort one's perception of reality.

I've been to Oregon, and it always amazed me that, what was once the the final destination of America's hardiest pioneers; Oregon Trail and all, has become a state where it's illegal to pump your own gas. What a bunch of crybaby nanny staters...I'm guessing Chickened is the anathema of an Oregonian.

And before the anti-business wing chimes in about the evil business 1%, the unions, and educational industry are willing partners in this downward spiral.

I'm good..It's a slow weekend. No children to break out the bullwhip on, so I can spend time dealing with a slow website....Maybe they should find some high tech 12 yr. old to help them get it right.

The government utilizes law in attempt to protect "x". This time its children being protected from the accidental injury, death, etc.

The problem is that they are taking away everything beneficial that a parent can do for their child(ren).

We cannot discipline our children nor can their educators. We cannot teach them work ethic. We have limited their freedoms (playing outdoors, exploring, speaking, etc). Are we allowing the government to take away everything beneficial? We have polluted air, toxic soil, tainted foods, chemical-laced water, and mounds of trash everywhere!

I am taking a stand. I increasingly choose to grow as much of my food as possible, reach out to my farming community for what I can't produce, and choose the grocery store last. I reuse as much as I can, re-purpose whatever I can, recycle everything possible, and reduce my impact (and that of my family). I choose to teach my kids moral values, work ethic, right from wrong, to think for themselves, and to explore the world around them!

I don't look at that as a violation of my rights. Now you better sit down for this one, but Oregon also has no sales tax. What's your take on that?

I get to go talk to the high school principle tomorrow... yah... seems my 15 year old is having to pay for a couple books. His good freind left his backpack outside, my son set it by the door to his next class, someone took it put it in the toilet and crapped on it. Now the school wants my son to fork over 80.00 because as they said" he was the last one to touch it" which must mean he did it I guess. Anyways I will have to remind them that his rights still apply of the accused even in school.

I use the cardlock system for fuel. And there are very few kids pumping gas most are adults in thier 20's and older.
