For the past few nights, an animal has been digging around our coop & run. So far they haven't been able to get past the edging we hammered below the surface all around the bottom edge of the run. Today my husband bought a live trap and we set it up with a few pieces of rotisserie chicken in it. Hope it catches whatever has been trying to get in. Should be interesting.

You might want to lay a sheet of plywood out, sprinkle a layer of flour on it, and put a bait in the middle. It should investigate at the least and leave you prints.

Suspect someone lets their dog out at night and it's visiting you

we tried wet cat food and canned salmon in our traps, and it worked like a charm! good luck! I would also put some heavy rocks around the outskirts of the run if you can... that should deter the the digging a bit more.

Good luck!

The trap was sprung - but nothing was in the cage. We found out my husband had set it incorrectly - so the animal was able to get into the trap, eat the food and leave. So we will try again. Thanks for the ideas!
