Ready to lay??

Quick question.... one of my girls has big red comb and wattles.... she has been squatting when i reach out the last couple days. Ive been sitting here watching her for about 45 mins... she is pacing and squawking her fool head off... she has been in and out of the coop constantly... when she is in i can hear her scratching around in one of the nesting boxes...then comes right back out.... she has probably done this 2 dozen times. I only have one other that is laying and was wondering if she is trying to figure out what she is supposed to do? Any insight would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like it to me. She is figuring out what she needs to do and will lay the egg soon! Mine acted similarly just prior to their first egg.

So i just found the second egg for today..... i guess she figured it out.... Now 2 outta 4 are laying

Congrats! I just found a surprise third egg for the day, meaning all 3 of ours are now laying. First eggs are special!

WOOT! Just found our first one yesterday and the the Mrs found her first one today. Isn't it exciting!
