Hi. I have 3 turkeys (one tom, two hens). One of the hens is SUPER CRAZY broody. I took the eggs because my setup isn't great for more turkeys right now, but I cannot break her. I've blocked her from the nest, so she stole chicken eggs and tried to hatch those. I took those and messed up that nest, so she broke into the goose pen and stole a goose egg.

I finally put her in broody jail for two days, but she was still broody, so I left her in a large kennel with just a roost (and food and water) for a few days longer. As soon as I let her out, she made a nest and is sitting on nothing.

Crazy thought: Could I give her a couple of ducklings? A neighbor just hatched way more ducks than he intended. I could get a couple.

Heritage. Bronze x Narragansett.
If it is a Bronze looking hen, it is a Bronze hen. If it looks Narragansett, it is Narragansett. There is only one color gene difference between Bronze and Narragansett and that is the Narragansett gene. If her mother was the Narragansett, she is a Bronze because a Narragansett hen cannot pass her Narragansett gene on to her female offspring.

Ok. Fantastic. She's not a broad breasted breed. Idk who her mom was or any of that. I just know she's crazy broody, and I can't break her.

I have had hens go broody on a single fake egg and stay broody even after I removed the fake egg.

For me it's not a problem because that is one less turkey egg I need to hunt for.
