Anyone else with a silkie this color? It's head is white and then it slowly turns gray! He's really pretty. I had to give him away a week or so ago because he started to crow. I'm just curious if anyone else has seen a silkie this color before. His name is Rambo and he was about 15 weeks old in these pictures.

Oh and I know he has the wrong type of comb for a silkie.

He's the light one in the middle of the picture in this one.

The one to the right here.

I can't get any more pictures because I gave him away a week or so ago.

Anyone ever seen this color before?

I bought a pair of silkies about two weeks ago at a livestock sale, They are suposed to be white, and the hen is, she's snow white. The man said the roo was white but he was just a little dirty from dusting, but he's still he same dirty white color, kinda like yours. I have recently seen pics of Khaki sumatras, which is the "splash"equivalent of Dun, and I was thinking that he could possilbly be a khaki silkie, ( since I have heard of Dun silkies), but I figured that was just wishful thinking. IDK, but he does look similar to yours. Hopefully one of the silkie experts will come along soon.

I just thought he was neat looking and the person that I gave him too (she is like a chicken expert) said she'd never seen a silkie like that before! So I was just wondering if it was like a new color.

Guess not. I know there are gray silkies but it's just his tail that's gray. His head is white. I guess the pictures kind of make him look all gray.

A khaki silkie... that could be but isn't khaki like a tan color?

Anyone else that can put a name to the color?

Sonoran... I don't think so. His neck was a little yellowish though.

Thank you very much HappyMtn!

I thought I say yellow there--so you think it was sunburned feathers?

He looks like a very pale version of columbian without the neck lacing. I've had a few of those, although darker overall. If you look at the undercoat, it is probably slaty coloured instead of white.

He looks to me more like a grey than a blue, but certainly not a proper grey by any stretch.
