Really frustrated with hardware cloth from local big box -- where to buy the good stuff?

Crazy cable, those prices do look good, unfortunately shipping would be $75 to me :(

Chickenkids and Laurel, which one on Amazon did you buy? The 1/2" 48 wide one I'm looking at (what I want) is actually the same brand as the one I bought at Home Depot believe it or not! I see some reviews on there say the same things I have found. It doesn't work out any cheaper for me because Home Depot did an exchange on the roll for a different problem and so I got half a roll free.

Aart, will look at Ace :) thanks.

ack, over $200 for the ace stuff, I won't get a refund from Home Depot so it would be $200 more. Still vacillating between buying the pricey stuff and using the money I would spend to buy electric wire. Is it bad that even though I think the electric wire plus so-so wire is probably a better choice over really good wire I want to buy the really good wire so it is straight and pretty?

Xtreme Rooster, we do have a tractor supply -- 300 miles away!

Mine was 36 inch, 100 ft. length, 1/2 inch, 19 gauge. Pretty sure it was the Mat Midwest. Please do future buyers a favor and review the brand you got that you didn't like. I rely on those reviews a lot and find most of them very accurate.

My husband and I have enough metal splinters in us to set off the security system at the airport. Lolol!!! We hung hardware cloth all day.

ok did so, thanks for the reminder.

NB one of the reviews on the MAT wire mentioned that their wire tested positive for lead.

I was hanging wire and stapling it until my kids and husband had bickered so much I couldn't stand to be around people any more. I have retreated to our bedroom with the door shut and woe betide any more people come and whine and complain and argue with me for the next hour or so.

I need wine or chocolate or TV or a new head!

Most galvanized metals have a trace of lead as well as zinc and I don't know what else....what makes for the more than usual irritation if you get scratched/cut with it.

I think shipping is the key...Ace didn't charge me for shipping as they have orders coming in every week anyway...and I trusted that if the quality was sub par they would take it back, I've done business with them in a small rural town for 15 years.

Tractor Supply wanted $130 for the roll and $50 shipping. Every local store and online deals are different, pays to check closely.
