Hey New -
If the bird is not in a tree all you have to do is shine a light at his face and he should stand still for you. Be sure to reach infront of him and scoop him toward you and then grab his legs and you should have him. Sorry I missed this one

Best to have gloves on so you don't get scratched up. Glad to see he's home now.

I have only caught young peafowl, but at night , they can't see very well. If you can get a sheet and throw it over them, they were very calm for me. However, the daytime is a different thing. The best way is probably using bugs or something they love to entice them where you want them to go. I feed all kinds of table scraps, they esp love dog food canned and dry. Good luck!
