Please help I left my turkeys outside for the first time last night. They're 2 weeks 3 days. They've been in a box up until now. With a light food and water. I moved them outside with the same conditions to a cage. They freaked out and jumped around. They finally calmed down before I went to bed but wasn't eating or drinking. I awoke to one dead and the others sick. I gave them electrolytes through their water and eye dropper. Along with a little baby rice cereal. They're better besides one. I gave him a little sugar water and put him under the light. They're back insid now in their box and happy. But I don't think the one is gonna make it. Any advice is appreciated.

Gee, I don't raise turkeys but at 2 weeks old I don't think they should have been left outside all night...probably got waaay too cold. So sorry for your loss.

iwiw60 well I had my doubts but I put a blanket down under them so air wouldn't hit their belly. And it was fairly warm all night. I had a heat lamp above the blanket and put them on it before bed. They all seemed fine besides being exhausted from running like crazy. I just want them to get used to being outside. They're wild turkeys so they're not really pets and freak out easily. I'm just afraid the longer they're inside the harder the transition will be on them to be outside and in a new surrounding. Any ideas?

Whereabouts do you live? You don't have your general location on your avatar/signature thingie so I can't tell (one of my pet peeves!

). How cold is it getting at night where you are? What kind of setup do you have for them when contained?
