really simple question

We have 2 new RIRs that we got yesterday - 1 year old hens. Until now, they have been eating from a self-feeder, so feeding has been continuous.
We are feeding them layer's crumble and need to know how much to feed them each day - seems they will eat whatever we put in front of them. Don't they ever get full?

Should we just go back to the self-feeder?

Many people just keep the feeder full, including myself. They won't eat more than they want or need, as long as they aren't getting too many goodies (which they'll eat till they fall over, LOL). With regular feed, they self-regulate pretty well.

Alrighty, then! Off to get them yet another pie tin of crumble and then off to buy a proper feeder.

I let mine self-regulate, too. And have never had an obese chicken!
