I live in Pakistan and a bird shop just at a walking distance from my house has a pair of baby flamingos, they're kind of brown and for 50 bucks each. any advice?
Baby flamingoes require a very specific diet and must be fed by tube directly into the crop. I certainly don't recommend them for beginners! However, you could always talk to other owners and get their advice. They are cool animals but require specific living conditions and diet as adults. (And as always, one should check into the legality of owning animals like that before purchasing. I am not familiar with the laws in Pakistan, unfortunately)
They said it was a kid but its about 3ft. in hieght. and as far as i know there's no law about a flamingo. I managed to get it two days ago and I'm giving it shredded carrots in duck feed mixed with some paprika and the little guy seems to be doing really well I'll post a picture soon so that you guys can help me identify its breed
There are no "breeds" of flamingo. There are several species, but many in captivity are hybrids. Of course, being that you're writing from Pakistan, it's also entirely possible -- and probable -- that these babies were poached from the wild. Two species can be found in your country -- Phoenicopterus roseus and P. minor.
