I found a strange egg. It was in the bushes in the run.
It’s small and white. I have no white layers.
It’s very odd.
Why is it like this? I assume it’s from one of my hens. Their run is fenced in.

It's a mystery all right! Do you have white-egg-laying neighbor chickens? Are you sure that you don't have a chicken laying white eggs?

Yep, I would think its just a glitch. Happens once in a while when a hen runs out of "ink". It happens more with older hens as well. Since blue and green eggs have a blue undercoat, its one of your brown layers.

I have two Dominiques, a Buff Orp, and a Speckled Sussex (brown eggs) and then two blue-laying EEs.

Since blue and green eggs have a blue undercoat,
They have a blue shell.

The very basics of egg color:
There are only white and blue shells.
Brown eggs have brown coating on white shells.
Green eggs have brown coating on blue shells.
The brown coating can be very light or very dark, and can vary day to day.
Then the bloom can add another aspect to the egg color.
Pink/purplish eggs are usually from the bloom on a brown egg.

Who recently was having trouble laying an egg? I forget which bird it was but she's the first one I would look at.
