One of my girls had something "pop" out, it was long and thin about the size of my thumb with pale yellow stuff oozing from it. Was concerned, thought she might be egg bound and followed all the advice I found posted. Well, she seemed fine, went back out to the coop two days ago...no eggs though. Today, there was something egg shaped on the ground (had to be her, the other three hens had already laid today). It was a little bigger than the normal eggs, rather rubbery on the outside. I gently broke it open (had gloves on!) there was kind of like a thin, papery looking covering over what looked like a soft set scrambled egg, foul smelling as well. I took pictures on my phone and camera but have been unable to upload...does anyone have any ideas what this might be?
