Hey guys. I've got 22 eggs in my Brinsea Eco 20. I keep hearing great things about this incubator (after I bought it funnily enough - guess it was a good choice). I've got 12 turkey eggs and all of them seem to be developing (although one's not looking too hopeful). Out of the 11 chicken eggs I started with, one has been binned and there are another three that I'm pretty sure aren't developing. So, 11 turkeys and 7 chickens are looking good. I'm fretting ridiculously over this darn hatch! I'm wanting people's experiences regarding this incubator - my eggs that are developing - how likely are they to hatch??? Has anyone had a disastrous hatch with this incubator, knowing that they had developing eggs? Or will I likely get lots of lovely turkey poults and chickie fuzzy butts?

Lot's of things can influence hatch rates, so there is no guarantee, but I use the Brinsea 20 Eco and have very good results. If an egg is clear, if it's been damaged in transit, exposed to PO x-rays, etc, etc - it doesn't matter how well the incubator works. It's been my personal experience that where there has been life at the half way point, I lose very few before hatch. My temps are very stable, and I'm able to keep humidity levels where I like them. Good luck with your hatch! Let us know, and you know we'll want pics!

Your eggs are in good "hands" in that incubator. If they are healthy enough to hatch, and you don't keep pulling the lid off during lockdown, they should hatch. I don't always get every viable looking egg to hatch in it, but most do. Some are just weak or had problems getting out of the shell. I think you can take a deep breath and let the Brinsea do it's thing. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I do tend to run away with myself in the excitement department and then get this sudden "argh, what if nothing hatches" pang. Also, we're flat broke so I've been stock piling used pallets for wood for the turkey enclosure and it struck me today that if nothing hatches, that's a hell of a lot of wasted time lol. Thanks so much for the reassurance, that's what I needed. Gonna candle them again tomorrow (the midway point for turkeys), throw out any that aren't looking good and then I'm hoping to leave them be until lock down, just topping up the water where necessary. I purposefully set the incubator at night so am hoping that i'll go to bed and come down to some fuzzy buts. That'll hopefully prevent the temptation of opening up the incubator to get them out.

I Love mine! I have been having great success with my brinsea eco 20's. Hatched at least 60 chicks so far this spring.
