This year we're rebuilding our flock
We.ve had all sorts of chickens in the past
this last year we even had
A small family of White Silkies

I looking forward to a flock of friendlier feathered friends
More hens less roosters

We're hatching a mix of Araucanas & Ameraucanas in 2014
and we couldn't be more excited

Thanks so much I think chicken shopping is a mistake I think I'm going to have to collect a few Lavender Orphingtons
I have a Sandhills preservation catalog so no pics I'm researching some of these older breeds as well.

This might get interesting
I even found a duck that lays deep purple eggs too...lol

Never heard of deep purple eggs - hope that isn't hype. Catalogs tend to make everything sound better than they are.

Apparantly the Black Cayuga duck lays the deepest purple eggs in the start of their laying season.
categorized as Purple/black
I was going to get a dozen runner ducks but now....
Black & Blue Cayugas please...lol

They are very dark anyway though looks very black to me
