I recently purchased a sportsman incubator with an electronic thermostat and the works for next to nothing. It had been left in the weather for a long time and the cabinet had completely gone to pieces. There was enough left to take accurate measurements etc. and I rebuilt the cabinet out of 3/4 in plywood. All works well except that I have at least a 2 degree temperature difference from the top tray to the bottom. It is driving me nuts trying to figure out how to balance that. The thermostat seems to work perfectly as it keeps a solid temp in every range it just has the spread from top to bottom. Any ideas out there?

All components appear to work great. I did talk to Randall Burkey and a guy there thought I might need more velocity on my fan?

I think I should have said hello I just found this site and just registered nice to find so many enthusiasts

Try a small fan to circulate the air, one of those computer fans. Hot air rises, so a fan should help.
