Received dead birds-shipping question

Thanks for the answers. Such a shame they didn't make it. They were just starting to get their color.

Birds can not be insured for mortality- AS the orginal poster stated: "No damage to the box and they arrived in good time." The post office did not do anything wrong so why should they be responsible?

We guarantee live delivery of our birds- and will not buy from sells who do not guarantee live delivery. We have been burnt by sellers who have not stood behind that guarantee though too.

I personally would not ship 2 Impeyans in a 16 by 16 box, they are large birds. We cut the fabic liner off from around the top vent holes on each end of the box so that the birds can get more air and heat can escape. My quess is that they overheated being cramped in a box. The seller should send replacements or refund the amount you sent him. It's not your fault that the birds died in the box- so why should you pay the shipping for dead birds.

My only experience shipping live birds involved sending some newly hatched cuckoo marans chicks, from NC to CA. I used USPS Express Shipping, when the chicks arrived, there were 2 or 3 dead, so I offered to refund him for the dead chicks, but he decided to file a USPS claim, and they paid him - however that is my only experience. I hope everything works out for you.
