I have 2 chicks, both hatched around mid october. Recently, they were attacked by a dog. One is missing her right wing, and the bone is exposed. She's eating and drinking, and is very vocal. She's still walking around well. The other has had her tail torn off, which happened just around 5 hours ago. I've wrapped both of them, as well as cleaned and treated their wounds. what is their chance of suvival? any advice on how to continue with treatment?

Oops didn’t mean to tag one of those!
I assume that is me. I will follow so I can see what our experienced say to do.
were they both attacked today? More than likely antibiotics are going to be needed to help keep infection away with those wounds. And your going to have to keep them away from flies if you live where it's warm enough to still have flies.

@nationofchicks birds are amazing how well they can recover given a chance.

i cleaned the wounds with water and a wet cloth, some of the threads i read before posting said harsher cleaners could do more harm than good. I used triple antibiotics w no pain relief on both chicks. heres the wing injury
Bless I sure hope they both recover. Hows does the other one look? no damage to the vent area?
