I was wondering how they can (gabbard farms) garrentie a porsilin d'unccle when its a reccesive gene. Anyone know?

thats because they have a breeding pair of(I am sure they have more than a breeding pair of them) of them, you see when you have two copies of the recessive gene on one bird, then the recessive gene becomes the ONLY gene there


here is a nice tool called the Genetic Calculator for chickens(created by Mr. Henk)

select for the genotype(in this case porcelain)

once in the calculator click on the option "Show Examples" then select for the lavender porcelain, you have to do this for both the male and the female, the click "claculate crossing"(bottom left)

and this is how your calculator should look(if selecting lavender porcelain)

I raise American Games and have been breeding them for 40 years'. 99% of your recessive genes within a certain family are present through inbreeding and then line breeding. After a few generations your original recessive genes become dominant, thus giving you the color you desire. You usually have to pay with issues in in other areas.,{disposition,conformation etc] I LOVE YOUR KFC CAPTION! May I borrow it?
