I have had to shoot 3 of them now to protect my flock. I have a taxidermy friend who has been skinning them and using the hides for projects but I was wondering if anyone had eaten fox? If so how did you prepare it, I hate to kill an animal and not use as much as I can for food or in this case a friends taxidermy business.

Thanks

My local taxidermist will only take them if they are in winter pelt. I had a friend that shot one and sold the pelt at a fly fishing shop. They used the fur to make fishing flies.

I've never heard of anyone eating fox, but have you considered feeding it to your chickens? Seems like that would be poetic justice.

Great idea! Let them at it!

Yeah, you can eat it but it's very tough and very gamey and requires a lot of doctoring up to make it somewhat edible.

I agree with the rest, crock pot it down and turn it into dog food and chicken feed.
