recipe for oatmeal crisps wanted

Look on the Pioneer Woman's website - she has the recipe there & in the reviews somebody said it was the same one, without the chopped nuts, that was in the old BHG cookbook.

Thanks. I found it and they look like what I had in mind. After reading the reviews I found I am not the only person that thought they were good!!

I think I know exactly the recipe you are looking for! My mom made these and I make them all the time too and I know what you mean when you say they are not like other oatmeal cookie recipes. Here it is:

Oatmeal crisps

1 cp shortening
1 cp brown sugar
1cp granulated sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cps flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda

3 cups oatmeal

Mix together first 5 ingredients and beat until smooth. Add next 3 ingredients and mix well. Stir in oatmeal.

Drop by teaspoonsfull onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake about 10-15 minutes, depending on how well done you like them. I tend to like them on the crispier side- not browned on edges, but you will see they darken overall as they bake a little longer. I also don't leave these on the cookie sheet to set after baking, but instead transfer them right to the rack.
