Recognize their own?

Will a chicken breed, say Polish for example, recognize their own kind? Or is a chicken a chicken to them?

Honestly there has been some cases where birds stick in their own breed groups.Meaning without any intent form owner they just naturally stuck with their own breed, maybe so.

I was curious because I have a year old buff polish hen and got 2 babies, a silver and a white crested black. They are 4 weeks now and in with some 2 and 3 week silkies. I’ve noticed that when the babies are outside in their play pen, Lilly, (my Buff) will hang around the side that Dottie and Spaz are hanging out.

i had a polish hen hang around the bantams when she was a baby and when she grew up a little bit she started hanging around the other polish chickens.
