If you look across the chart you'll see pics of eggs. Large pile of eggs means good layers, small pile not so good. Keep in mind though there are no absolutes.
The chart shows brahmas as being decent layers, yet I average 11 eggs daily out of 14 hens.

I have to give a plug for Delawares. Great layers and not flighty at all.
