Recommend a dog/puppy shampoo to me

Like you said, you get the idea. Getting them off the ground and out of the bathtub is the idea - how you do that is up to you.

I can see a raised bench, like a garden bench, doing the job.

Used it for years on my good Thunder (now passed) a GSD mix with allergies. Very good for any kind of itchy skin.

Dog bathing hint from a groomer. Next time you have an empty (preferably good sized) dish soap bottle, save it. An empty ketchup bottle will work in a pinch, but the dish soap bottle is best.

Put 1/4 cup of shampoo in the (clean, empty) bottle and 2 1/2 cups warm water. Shake until the shampoo is all diluted, then part the hair and squirt the shampoo mix right on to the skin on a DRY dog and lather away. Then you only have to wrestle with a hose to rinse. And even a big dog does a lot less squirming if it's a warm rinse, there body temp is already naturally higher then ours and WE don't like an icy drench from the hose unless it's a hundred degrees out. Hook the hose up to the sink (laundry room if the kitchen wont work) and run it out through a window.

For a little doggy smell freshener, wipe the outer fur with a baby wipe, the no-alcohol kind.

Paul Mitchell has the best shampoo for dogs. I have the oatmeal line and use it on three different dogs, a Great Pryneese, a bichon and an american bull dog. It lasts a lot longer then anything else I've every used and makes all of them beautiful. it even gets all the knots out of the gP and the bichon.

I just use a simple tearless puppy shampoo.

I like clean dogs too... and believe it or not they get a bath about every 5 months.

The dogs do not smell at all and I always get compliments on their coat.

If they get muddy I just rinse with warm water or I let them dry out and in a few hours they do not have any dirt left as they just naturally shed it all off.

Johnson and Johnson works fine but I do prefer an organic oatmeal shampoo for a good scrubbing.
