What is an unaltered bronze? I have never heard that term used with birds before.

there are 2 strains of Bronze turkeys

one is unaltered and original to the breed that was first perfected

the altered breed is a what you have in USA the Double Brested Bronze

In the US, we have both Standard Bronze, which is a heritage turkey breed and a BBB which is a commercial fast growing Hybrid. A capon is an altered rooster, or altered male like a steer would be compared to a beef bull. I got a little confused by the terminology. LOL
