I love the recycled material coops I have seen on BYC. They inspired me so much I did it myself, it was very rewarding and cost effective. I would love to see more examples of recycled material coops, feeders, waterers, and anything else you use with your flock.

The local science center was tearing out and old theater from inside that had not been used in 20years. I was able to take the old lumber to build this coop. There were no 2X4's only 2x6's, 2x8's, plywood, and 1x4's so the coop is very robust.

Found some old plex being thrown out at a local art studio for my skylights and two bundles of shingles were listed for free on Craigslist.

Free 5 gallon pickle buckets for the cafe in town

I am still finishing the nesting boxes. Since this picture was taken I have added shingles and swivel doors that go over the 4" holes retrieve eggs through. Still need to paint it though. and yes that is a can of Busch Light in the background, also cost effective.

I really like your feeder!!! I was going to use the long PVC tubes in the coop for extra food when it's raining, but I have tons of buckets lying about and will use those for the main feeder outside! Are the short pieces you glued into the bucket 2" long??

On the feeder I used 90degree elbows. The opening of the PVC is 3", I have the inside part of the 90 pointed down towards the bottom of the bucket and it is about an inch off the bottom. I am having a hard time trying to explain, If you would like I could take some additional photos of the inside and send them to you.

I would love some pictures. We are working on some feeders for our flock of 10. We have a few square buckets, and we are having trouble envisioning a design for them. This might work! Thank you!

We also used recycled materials for our coop. We started with a long pallet as the base. From there, we broke down pallets & used siding that we found in our storage shed that previous owners had left there. We were even able to paint it using extra paint that matched our house.

The run was constructed out of dog panels that were left by the previous owners as well. We did have to purchase chicken wire and netting to reinforce the run, but with the savings on the coop, I have no complaints.

I too would like to know more about your waterer. Clean water is a must and that looks like it works very well.
Nice job!
Those are called watering cups, I've seen them at a number of places on line. I use horrizontal nipples they don't need to be cleaned out and nothing gets kicked into them, just personal preference.
