Recycled Pallet Coop

Hey guys, I need suggestions/pictures for a duck coop for 2 ducks. I have a bunch of pallets I'd like to use. I'm basically trying to build it as affordable as possible while still being sturdy enough to protect them. I just spent like $400 on materials for a new chicken coop, my plan was to move the ducks to the old chicken coop buuut as I learn more about ducks, I dont think that's going to work. Also any other suggestions for ducks are greatly appreciated! I've never had ducks before. lol

I just made a shelter for inside my duck run completely out of pallets. It's a temporary thing that I can easily move but for only 2 ducks and lots of pallets to work with I don't see why you couldn't start with something like this.

There is a pallet for a floor that you could make solid by taking some pallets apart and filling in the spaces between the boards or screw a piece of plywood on it which would be easier.

You should be able to easily make a duck house for 2 that would be big enough, safe and secure. Unlike what I've got in the picture but mine isn't meant to be secure and it's not for nighttime.

I built this one out of all pallet wood and the roof is reclaimed tin off a barn. For the main joists and rafters I used the pallet bases. Only thing I had to buy was just hardware and the wire for the bottom.

You used wire for the bottom? Like only wire instead of any kind of wood? Do you just cover it with hay? I'm very interested in this.

We just finished a pen using mostly pallets and scraps we had laying around. Of course, we built it and incorporated it between 2 other pens so it was pretty easy to do. The floor was pallets with plywood on top and the roof is all plywood and scrap pieces of wood that we had. The only thing I had to buy was the hinges, door handle and lock.

If you can I would certainly advise you to build one that you can stand in! Not like the pen on the left where I bang my head constantly! I know, you'd think I'd learn but apparently it's not happening.

That's one of the reasons why I'm upgrading my chicken coop! Us humans are slow learners Do you have chickens and ducks? If you do, do you let them in the same run and separate coops? Sorry. I just don't know how to set it up for these ducks

Love the coop design, but probably wouldn't be suitable for ducks given how steep the ramp is.

If this is for ducks you’ll need to place boards along the sides to keep them from falling off an injuring their legs I’d cut off the bottom of the legs till it’s only about a ft. off the ground

No, I just have ducks. I know lots of people who have both and what I've learned is that you can't have boy ducks with chickens or they will tear them up and kill them. Apparently roosters don't have the "equipment" that drakes do!
