Recycling for the birds!!

Of course we ran out of chicken food the day before pay day. So I decided to take hubby's empty cans to the recycling center. It was long over due. I got $11 and promptly went and bought chicken food. While I was at the recycling place I asked the guy if he knew of a salvage yard where they resell stuff. I'm looking for fence posts for my chicken run. He said he has a guy that comes in and always has wood posts that he just burns. He said he'd snag them for me the next time he comes by.

That's awesome! Nothing better than a little "help the earth to help yourself" and getting a hook up for free building supplies at the same time.

I love that we made our coop and run from all recycled materials. It's not done just yet. But so far the only things we had to buy were screws!!!
