Recycling plastic bags? Not what you think happens!

I bought BAGGU bags, really cute! (6 bags)

Thing is we do a LARGE shopping trip every two-three weeks, we'd need ALOT of bags, but every little bit counts.

Does BYC store have a shopping bag? If not, there's an idea for Nifty.

They also did that a few times around here so I got free advertising bags but then the grocery store gives you 10 cents per bag you use no mater what place it advertises.

Some of my bags advertise Nebraska stores from when we lived there.

I want to go to Hobby Lobby and buy some blank ones and make them up to advertise my photography for sale and maybe one that shows my horse for sale. Once she's sold I could always keep it and use it around here to bring stuff back from our garden down to the house.

Oh, hey, I like that. BYC should sell re-usable grocery bags! I always feel guilty about not wanting to use a competing store's bag in a different store. Silly me.

If the bag advertised BYC, I'd use it everywhere!

I have been making them to sell at craft fairs. I just listed what I have left in my Etsy shop. They are not cheap though. It takes a yard of fabric and 8 feet of webbing straps to amke one. I line mine and use nice fabric. They are a lot better made than the 99 cent ones you get at the grocery store.

I might see what I have in chicken print and add some to the BYC store after I get through with the commitments I have going.

I recycle my plastic bags... as trash bags. I use them to line bed room trash cans and when there are too many to use for holding trash or taking lunches in, then it's bundled up and taken the to the fruit/veggie stand where they get used by people who forget to bring a bag.

I re-use my gorcery store bags, 1-as grocery store bags, andthen, 2-garbage bags. i double bag my kitchen garbage with two groc bags. When I am out of store bags, I do have the re-usable ones, and my mother in law saves her gorcery store bags for me-.

maybe they should give a discount if you use clothe bags

Actually, many stores are starting to give "bag credit". I get 5 cents off for each bag that I use at Henry's and Albertson's. I often have to remind the cashier, but using 4 or 5 of my own bags means that I get -20 or -25 which is the same as one coupon so I am all over it.

I have bags from nearly every store imaginable - including a hugh orange bag from Home Depot - it was only 99 cents. For a while I gave my self a penalty - if I forgot my bags at home I would have to purchase one more bag, 99 centers, to add to my collection. I now have enough bags that I almost always have some in our van so that even if I forget some in the house, there are some in the vehicle.

In Virginia Ukrops stores give a discount on your bill if you bring back and reuse their plastic or paper bags. It's not much, I think 4 cents a bag but every penny helps and the bags are being reused.

I am also guilty of forgetting to take the bags back with me. I'll work harder from now on to remember!
