Red, bald spot on chicken

I wondered about that, too. It could very well be. Anything I can do to stop it? I have seen this chicken pick at herself, too, but she may be doing that from the irritation.
Feather picking is often from boredom or being too crowded, or from a protein deficiency. Other times it can happen on the roosts if birds are above each other.

What is the protein content of your feed? I'd suggest 18-22% protein. You can dust her just to be sure. It wouldn't hurt.

I want to say it's at least 16%, but I'm not 100% sure right now. We had a coop that was too small before, but we built one that's a lot bigger, but these chickens do not space themselves out on the roosts. They huddle close together, even when it's hot out. I have seen them sitting on top of each other and maybe my chicken that looks pecked is trying to sit on other chickens and they get fed up. The roosts are like 6ft long and they still do this. There are also some smaller roosts that are placed on one side, kind of below it. For a while things were better in the bigger coop and now they're back to what they were.

I'll probably get some more stuff to dust her to be sure it's not lice/mites or something.
