Red bits in poo

I spotted a few piles of poo like this in the run today. I’ve got no idea who left them, and all the hens in that pen are laying adults. I feel like I’ve seen this associated with coccidiosis, but am not sure, and it seems odd that it’d strike mature hens. Is it possibly just some red food they’ve gotten at, or something more serious?

I’m newer to chicken keeping so anything I say is from my own research, not experience; however, I think that I’ve read chickens shed the lining of their intenstine and that is what the red/pink in their poop can be from. It’s completely normal; however, if there is a large amount of red found or it’s being found for a prolonged amount of time it could be something more serious. Hopefully more experienced members can add to this.

I agree it is likely intestinal linining and can be normal. It wouldn’t hurt to treat for coccidosis. Do they free range at all? Maybe you should confine them to the run for a couple days so you know they are only eating the feed you provide and see how tgeir poop looks then. What do they normally eat?
