I am getting a Red Cap chick from MM in the next few days (assuming it survives the trip better than its predecessor). I've Googled the breed and have come up with some references and snippets of info, but I'm finding it really difficult to find out a lot about the breed. Most of the sources are English which makes sense because it's an English breed.

Does anyone have any info on American Red Cap breeders? I would be interested in getting some hatching eggs down the road. And another (probably more ridiculous question), how long can hatching eggs survive in shipping? Is it possible to get hatching eggs from England?

Back in the 80s I had some Red Caps pullets and they were disappointing. Their combs were regular sized like my SSHamburgs and not big like feathersize has them pictured to be.

Sandhill preservation should have some.
