Hi everyone.

My chicken legs are red and I don’t know why. The weather has been nice lately. My chickens don’t walk in snow but the soil was very very cold a month ago . The other chicken legs and feet are okay. She has been limping for a week now. I checked her legs and bottom of feed and I don’t see any wounds. She is eating and acting normal .

Looks like some scaly leg mites, but the redness may be normal, a sign of fertility. I would oil the legs twice a week with an oil such as mineral oil, vaseline, to smother the mites.
Thank you
