Red colour

Does anyone know what kind of red this bird is? Ash red or re red? If ash red, is it spread?
It got a few white fathers at the back and a little white in the tail feathers + hints of white here and there.

Yes, Recessive Red or Recessive yellow will mask almost all colors. Your bird should be carrying spread because of the nice even rich Red he is colored. To be sure just mate him or her to a blue bar bird. This should give you a blue T check or even a check bird that is mostly black. If the squab comes out barred with a black overtown, Then your bird is a blue bar, spread, rec. Red. fantail. For the best spread ( Black ) bird, Use a T-check bird carrying spread Times 2, thus T-check, T-check, spread, spread. or homozygous for T-check, and homozygous spread. Makes for a really black pigeon. You could add other modifiers but this will be plenty black for most people.

Also remember with Recessive Red or Recessive Yellow that with age you will get more and more white feathers. An ash red bird carrys a ash Red tail and some times wings ( the color of ashes after you burn a pile of wood ) Recessive Red over a ash Red birds is not as pretty as Recessive red over a spread blue (black) bird. Also most whites are dominate over Recessive Red or yellow. So offspring will not be a self ( Solid ) Red bird, just a white bird or grizzle. As most whites are pure grizzle ( Homozygous Grizzle ). I'll just hope i can get some blacks from him then since i really want that colour back in my coop (i lost all my pigeons awhile back). Also got 3 rec whites that might carry spread if i am lucky.
Will probably mate the red male with a blue bar or a blue check pied. The blue bar hen is my smallest bird with the shortest tail tho so even if they are best match colourvise i am not sure if the body will turn out good. But i guess i will give it a try.
I will try get some reds from him too but those wont show up until next year so for now i will try get black.
