Hello,
Anyone know what's up with this little one? It is 8 weeks old and has had this for a while. I thought at first that it was just going through an ugly stage while it gets it's feathers.

I've been watching and no one is picking on it. It acts happy, healthy and it's getting plenty to eat/drink.... Any ideas??? No one else in my flock looks like this. I have a few others that look to be the same breed and they all have feathers where this one is lacking them.

This may be happening on the roosts, or wherever they are sleeping at night. It does look like feather picking, though the picture is not real clear. Once there is a bare, red spot, it will attract more attention. I would look a the roost/sleeping arrangement, to see if it can be modified to stop this, or do some observing at roosting time to see what's going on. You could try some blu-kote (I hate the stuff, it's messy and stains), that may disguise the area and reduce the pecking. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't, but it's an option to try.

Ok I will keep an eye out and I do have blue kote and may try to use it. I am like you though and do not like it due to the messiness. Thank you for your help!
