Red featherless butts

A rooster doesn't have to be killed for overmating hens. He can be separated out to give the hens a break. Saddles can be placed on hens to protect backs.
I know, and that is why I suggested rehoming as another option. I just find it (unfortunately) better to not have the rooster with the hens at all because an overbreeding rooster disrupts the hens' daily life and still causes them stress.

I also added floating fish food it's high in protein. They don't just dive in but it's always gone the next day. I also throw them back cooked eggs and meat/fish scraps.
