red golden pheasant chick (help)

i hatched a chick this morning and he had spawled legs. i made him he splint thing as suggesed and even wached videos on how to do it but even with the thing on he falls all over the place. is this ok?

this is the first time ive ever had to do this.

never mind, i have a mircle child on my hand. took only 24hours to fix the leg and 10 hours for the toes. she went from not being able to walk at all to toddling and now walking and running around! her little toes were bad but now they are straight. i wish i took before and after pics because the transformation was amazing!
