The Ruff pheasants, Goldens and Lady Amherst can be sexed from day one.
Look closely at the face, under the eye you will see a tiny patch of bare skin, that will be the wattle on a male chick. If there is no patch, then it's female.
Here's a couple of pics showing the patch on a day old male chick and the lack of a patch on a female chick.
Also a pic of a 4 month old male.
