Hi All, the red goldens are hatching!!! I have another batch that will go into lockdown in a couple more weeks, so excited!!! I do have one question for those that have hatched Red Goldens.. most of the chicks are the same coloration but there is one chick that is very light colored, almost a blonde color- it is not albino...could anyone tell me more about this?

They should all be the same can you post pix that will help. Did you get the eggs from someone or from your birds and if yours do you know your blood line.

Here is a quick shot of a couple of the chicks- the darker one is what all but the one look like, the lighter one is the one I am not sure about. I do have Dark Throats but did not think I set any of them in this batch- could it be a dark throat????

The one on the left is a yellow golden, the right is a red golden and can't really see the one on the bottom.

so now I am confused (easily done) as I only have Dark Throats and Red Goldens- the eggs came from my birds who are housed in separate pens, I know the parents of 2 of my pairs- I do have 1 pair of Red Goldens that I do not know their parents and the hen is a lighter buff than my original pair of R/G's hen...so maybe the male is pure R/G and the hen is a golden???

The parent could be from cross breed birds and the genes will be passed down.
