Red Goldens with Chicks

yea, he sitting right now. last year his dad/mom raised 2 broods. they're dead, but he took over the job and is diligently sitting on his eggs. he's got one more week to go!
(20-25 eggs!)

I like the idea of parents raising their chicks,but again this year I lost at least 15 chicks due to parents not caring for them correctly.From now on I am pulling chicks as soon as they hatch because something always happens.
Stewed Mammal the NEA meeting is on the 2nd sun in Sept the 10th as the 3rd is labor day weekend.Maybe I'll see you there.www.neasociety.com

I know. my bobwhites hatched 12 out of 20, the other eggs had chicks as well, but they just left with the hatched ones and the others died. out of those 12 5 survived due to rats etc.
